Solar Turbines (Solar) and Whitewater Midstream (Whitewater) selected Flint to install Open Ground Module (OGM) compressor stations across Whitewater’s natural gas pipeline systems throughout Texas.
The standard OGM compressor station configuration for this program consists of two (2) Solar Titan 250 gas turbine-driven centrifugal compressor packages, providing a combined output of 66,000 horsepower (46 MW) per station. Each facility consists of Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment, utility systems, 42-inch, 36-inch, and 30-inch main gas piping, interconnecting process piping, and complete electrical and control systems.
To date, under this program, Flint has installed 27 compressor stations incorporating 54 Solar turbine packages and approximately 1,750,000 HP (1.2 GW) of installed compression capacity across the Whitewater pipeline network.
Whistler Compressor Stations
Big Wells, Del Rio, Rankin, and Waha, TX
The Whistler project scope consists of three (3) greenfield compressor stations comprised of two (2) Solar Titan 250 gas turbine driven centrifugal compressor sets at each station and one (1) compressor station comprised of two (2) Solar Mars 100 gas turbine driven centrifugal compressor sets.
Flint’s project scope includes construction and installation services of the turbine compression equipment, Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment, utility systems, 42”, 36”, & 30” main gas piping, interconnect piping, and electrical.
The multiple compressor station construction was executed sequentially with each site taking approximately 12 weeks.
