The Capacity Model
The Capacity Model is designed to eliminate life-threatening, life-altering, and life-ending events by focusing on human performance and building the capacity to fail safely. Despite numerous injury and illness prevention programs, the rate of reduction in occupational injuries has slowed in recent years. Recognizing the need for a new approach to drive continued progress, Flint’s parent company, Quanta, developed this system, and Flint fully supports and implements it across its operations.
The Capacity Model was developed in conjunction with Quanta’s workforce and industry-leading experts as a bold, different approach to workplace safety. It demands an honest assessment of reality—so that successes don’t happen by chance, and failures don’t cost lives. Flint’s goal is simple and unwavering: zero life-threatening, life-altering, or life-ending events.
